mugen is an expansive poly-artist, child of a Japanese mother, Taiwanese + Hakka father. In 2016, they began tattooing and attended Five Immortals Temple on Wudang Mountain in central China to learn Daoist Medicine.

They graduated with a Masters in Acupuncture in 2023 and reside in the Bay Area, California.

Their current practices include: tattoo, tattoo acupuncture, illustration, qigong + martial arts, research + writing on tattoo acupuncture, literary world-building + poetry.

As time progresses, they are calling in more community + healing work, earth/ancestral skills, cultural medicinal/spiritual cultivation, writing residencies + fellowships, land + animal tending, and indigenous + collective liberation.
